The question is 'What is the accurate way of Speed Testing?'

Unfortunately, You will hardly get some options to find out this. One site which is globally known as http://speedtest.net may not utilize your network port properly or show incorrect ping result. The Experts will not count speedtest.net as a proper or accurate source of network speed testing. You may check the below method.

Windows

If you are running Windows Operating Server/Desktop version, Make sure you have a Good Downloader which will offer you better speeds and capable of utilizing your network port properly.

Example - https://www.internetdownloadmanager.com/ (They offer 30 Days of trial usage/ Possible testing).

For setting a high connection, go to Downloads > Options > Connection > Set 16 At least

Now Download one of the below links from our Closest Datacenters -

10GB Test Files -

(Serverius DC) / AMS, The Netherlands

http://speedtest.serverius.net/files/10000mb.bin

(Xs4all Internet BV) / AMS, The Netherlands
http://speedtest.xs4all.nl/files/10GiB.bin

Linux
For Linux Operating Systems, You can do the following command -

Wget download link from below

10GB Test Files -
(Serverius DC) / AMS, The Netherlands
http://178.21.16.76/files/10000mb.bin

(Xs4all Internet BV) / AMS, The Netherlands
http://194.109.6.103/files/10GiB.bin

(TELE2) AMS, The Netherlands
http://90.130.70.73/10GB.zip

Delete the downloaded file by using this command -
rm filename

This is the best methods for download speed testing from our experience.  Always make sure that the other party has a similar speed or a better network than us. Otherwise, No Chemistry and poor speed results may generate.

For upload testing, You can do a Server to Server FTP transfer with a closest Datacenter or Service Provider. Always make sure that the other party has a similar speed or a better network than us. Otherwise, No Chemistry and poor speed results may generate.
