Network expansion to 4 Tbit/s
In order to maintain the quality of our services and due the very high demand for bandwidth, we will expand our network even further. Last week new Arista routers have been added to our network. This week 500 Gbit/s of extra transit capacity will be connected and next week an additional 500 Gbit/s will be connected. That means an upgrade of our network with 1 Tbit/s. The following transit parties will be upgraded: Level3, Core-Backbone, Telia and RETN. In the next weeks our total network capacity will expand to a tremendous 4 Tbit/s with the following partners:
Cogent
Level3
AMS-IX
NL-IX
Telia
RETN
TIS Sparkle
Core-Backbone
+ several direct peering connections with other ISPâs.
To transport all this capacity to our datacenters we have invested in Coriant Groove G30 DWDM DCI technology which allows us to utilize 19.2 Tbit/s on each of our redundant fiber routes. We will migrate to this equipment this week. No interruption of service or downtime is involved with these upgrades.
We will always do our utmost to provide the best possible network setup for our customers and thus we will keep expanding and maintaining our network with new connections and new routers, we are ready for the future.
If you would have any further questions related to these upgrades please feel free to contact us at support@rootlayer.net or on our live sales chat located on
